Would all individuals with long covid benefit or is it only a subsection? Is this a reasonable strategy to cope with long covid fatigue symptoms in the medium term?

In the image, the usual pathway to produce ATP is from glucose to pyruvate and then further metabolism in the mitochondria. It seems that the availability of pyruvate for mitochondrial energy production is reduced in long covid patients at baseline and after exercise.

Ketone bodies could help to fuel the deficit.

Metabolic and structural alterations are supported by venous blood and skeletal muscle metabolomes of long COVID patients, in which glycolytic metabolites were higher and TCA cycle metabolites were lower.
